Pork Nova Scotia is the marketing agent for hogs in Nova Scotia and is mandated to carry out the purchase and sale of hogs in this province through the Natural Products Act. It has an active and organized structure that has become the recognized voice of the Pork Industry in Nova Scotia. Pork Nova Scotia is organized into 3 geographical zones, representing pork producers who account for 100% of Nova Scotia's pork production. The board of directors consists of six directors, two from each zone. It also maintains active affiliations nationally with the Canadian Pork Council and internationally with Canada Pork International, a member of the Board of Directors of Pork Nova Scotia is appointed to the Canadian Pork Council.
